JBF (Jonathan Barnes Furniture) is a developer and exporter of quality furniture, based in Ho Chi Minh City. Our Vietnam business started in 2018 with select ranges of solid wood furniture exported to Canada and Germany. Since then we have developed our relationships with our suppliers immensely and have introduced more contemporary designs.
Our furniture is still largely handmade by some of the most the most skilled artisans in Vietnam. Together, our joint experience in working with solid wood and in particular reclaimed pine, is passed on to our customers and we take a lot of pride in the work we do.

We offer a complete service: design and development, also developing customer designs, followed by production, quality management and shipping. We are an experienced and skilled team, always fully involved in our products, even long after they have shipped.

The early years...
After graduating in mechanical engineering, my love for woodwork led me to start a company making bespoke furniture and interiors in South Africa in 1994. Based in Cape Town, we offered a premium service to customers as far afield as the UK and Italy. In 2016, I moved to Vietnam and shifted my focus from custom high-end manufacturing to volume manufacturing and exporting. However, our careful hands-on approach of bespoke furniture manufacturing is still an integral part of everything we do in Vietnam. It guides to our rigorous approach to design, sampling, production and quality control.
